Describe Master Harolds relationship to the boys and tell if it's fair?
Master Harold better known to the boys as Hally which they called him showing the history between them, that the boys felt comftable enough to call this white person/boy, there master by his first name and Hally didn't seem to mind. Hally has known Willie and Sam all his life it seems and despite growing up white and in a very racial time hally still treats the boys like almost siblings. He shares
conversation with them, teaches them stuff.
Hally seems to have a closer bond with Sam as aposed to Willie it may have something to do with willies drastic age difference to Sam and hally. Hallie finds out thT his dad will be back home that day, it upsets hally and as siblings usually do the lAsh out at love ones. Though hallie lashed out at the boys and it is unfair to the boys I completely understand why. Hally had endured his drunk farthers abuse and his antics that it made hally remember the past an angering him. It would appear thT Sam reused this and quickly forgave hally reminding hally of the good old days when they use to fly kites.

TRIFLES (understanding the three women in the play)
In the times (am concluding 19th century) portrayed in this play, the setting of the play, wording used, quietness of the women and the respect portrayed by the women towards the Men/husbands I am assuming in this play that women hadn’t the right to vote as yet much less do anything else without their husbands knowledge. In this play women are helpless to their men’s control and are looked at as just good enough for the kitchen and controlled areas mainly the home. So investigating was not for women they weren’t smart enough. Yet it was the women in this play that solved the murder without their husband’s knowledge, they instead of the men looked at the little things that took place in the areas that they were familiar with like the kitchen and all its items undone or incomplete. Some of the tell tale signs to a woman that stuff was left in a hurry, for example the mention of the jars bursting in the cold, the towels hanging, the detailing of the quilt. Things only the women would know to look for, these are the ideas that link these women together wither they wanted to or not. With the investigation going on the women found that they shared so much in common, and find that they feel a responsibility of some sort with what had happen to Minnie, they question that if they had intervened maybe even visited now and then seeing that they lived so close would this murder have occurred.
The women were all to themselves, caught up with their duties and preparing after the men. They were supposed to carry themselves in a certain way.
The first and trivial wife to the play is Minnie Wright formerly Minnie Foster who is now considered a murderer. She was once a beautiful woman that sang in the choir and was said to be seen in the early happier days of her life as “wearing white dress with blue ribbons” and always lively. She was married to a man that drained her of all her happiness, leaving her to cling to a bird for comfort and company, which her husband has now killed. In the play the killing of the bird symbolizes that’s Minnies husband killed her to, just not literally. The play remarks that Mr. Wright was “close with his money” leaving one to draw that he was cheap and didn’t spend money on Minnie therefore leaving her without cloths to go out and meet with other neighbors.

I can't say I like reading very much am more of a talker / discussion kind of girl so reading TRIFLES was both painful and mind blowing. So here I go. It seems in the first scene of Trifles the description of the house kind of painted a picture for me. There wasn't any dialogue as of yet but just the description of an abandoned farm house belonging to someone by the name of "John Wright". I put two and two together an knew that something bad happened to John Wright when the author wrote in her scene " the kitchen in the now abandoned farmhouse of John Wright, a gloomy kitchen, and left without having been put in order--unwashed pans under the sink, a loaf of bread outside the bread box........" then when the author said the law was involved. "At the rear the outer door opens, and the Sheriff comes in, followed by the county Attorney and....." Let's face it we all watch detective shows or television period an when the law is at the door you know something is up and the dreary description of the house tells a story of its own, a story that something bad went on in that house. The house was cold, dirty not well kept. There was no mention that the house was once a happy home also leading me to think that it may never have been filled with joy or laughter.

Hamlet
BLOG 1
The story of HAMELT (in line to be king of Denmark) to me is a sad one where I think a portrayal of a young man (Hamlet) who’s farther (King Hamlet) was murdered supposedly by Hamlets uncle (Claudius) for probably jealousy, greed, and who knows why else (maybe to get the queen). Hamlet after seeing a ghost in the image of his farther, the ghost told hamlet who murdered the king, leaving hamlet with all these mixed emotions and turmoil within. I felt that Hamlet was more or less a coward but now angry about his dads murder has to for once in his life (be a man) stand up and take charge and revenge with not the slightest clue how to begin his revenge.
SO IS HAMLET MAD, not completely. One has to think finding out that your farther may have been murdered by your uncle your fathers own brother and what’s worse maybe your own mother may have played a part in this murder can cause a moment of insanity, but I think if he was mad it was just temporary madness which either of us would also experience given the same circumstances. I felt that Hamlet had so much at once on his plate and didn’t know what was what an appearing mad kind of worked out well for him. It fooled the people that were spying on him on a daily basis on behalf of the king and queen. So again I ask was hamlet mad not at all, would a mad person come up with a grand plot of creating a play which reenactment the murder of his father to get Claudius mad or even to get Claudius to fall apart and maybe even admit to murdering his own brother. Unfortunately it didn’t quite work out the way Hamlet planned, Claudius only got angry.
The queen Hamlet held a lot of anger towards his mother. One could tell in the scene where Hamlet confronts his mother right after the play. Hamlet looks on at a painting which shows his dad in all his regal and makes comments of his farther to his mother. Hamlet was both confused about his mother’s actions after his father’s death when she marries his uncle and continues on in a normal way with her new husband as if the old husband never existed, she didn’t even seem to morn her husband’s death something she and both Hamlet could have shared but didn’t. An action not considered normal in our today world, and almost suspicious if not weird.

Hamlet is disgusted with his mother and lets her know this within this scene (when he comes to her room) in the way he speaks to her and his words so harsh sometimes.
“QUEEN: O me what hast thou done? (Hamlet just killed Polonius thinking it was his uncle king Claudius)
HAMLET: nay, I know not. Is it the king?
QUEEN: O, what a rash and bloody deed is this!
HAMLET: A bloody deed – almost as bad, good mother as kill a king and marry with his brother”
Hamlet accidentally kills Polonius (the king’s council) in this seen thinking it was the now King Claudius, Well it serves Polonius right for hiding behind the drapes to spy on Hamlet. Hamlet in this seen seems happy to think that it was the king he may have killed. I would blame his mother because I felt that somehow if it wasn’t for her remarrying Claudius and having as it seems a good ole fairy tale time with her new hubby, hamlet would not be in her room having a conversation leading up to Polonius death.
After all of Hamlets trials and tribulations he still dies at the end but with a sweet and sour note because he never really gets the revenge he wanted on his uncle but instead everyone dies. Hamlet is eventually killed by Claudius plot, Claudius convinces poor Laertes who is also now in morning for both his sister and farther but filled with anger takes on a supposed friendly dual with hamlet. He is advised to kill Hamlet with his sword which is dipped in poison, Hamlet fights Laertes and wins and is now offered a drink of wine from a poised cup by Claudius. Hamlet refuses but his mother drinks instead even though her husband tells her not to, killing her instantly, at the same time Laertes not ready to accept defeat still stabs Hamlet with the poisoned blade killing Hamlet. Hamlet stabs Laertes with the same poison sword and listens to Laertes last dying words where he admits to Claudius plot to kill Hamlet. Hearing this Hamlet uses his last breath to stab Claudius killing him instantly. Hamlets last words were to Horatio and the king of Norway, he told Horatio not to commit suicide but to tell the story of what happened and he told Norway king to become the king of Denmark

Life and the masks we wear!!!
Its funny on the first week of school, my English class met for the second time on Thursday with my English professor. We talked a bit about the masks used in the drama industry and everyday lives. It is amazing because before this I never thought about it but we do it everyday, and for the craziest reasons. I work in the customer service industry and I have to use many faces as I realized today while at work. I have the sad face, the mad face, the don't ask me crap face, the are you that dumb face, the owe my god how cute is she/he/it face, the outrageous face, the defensive face, the I got to look like I give a damn face so I wont loose my job, the genuine face when you meet great customers, the oh my god he is a cutie customer and I can go on and on but you get the picture. Yes they are all many emotions but what's incredible is how much of an actress I am and am darn good at it. I love my job but man I see and hear the dandiest things. I now realize that you put a face on to back up what you want people/customers to think your feeling when most of the times your not actually feeling that way.
How many of my classmates can concur with me? It is truly amazing makes me excited to find out what next my professor has up her sleeves for us so we can analyze ourselves a bit.
